Best-Laid Plans (Short Story from published anthology)
Another early published story. Just as actors go where the auditions are, writers answer call for submissions. I started getting a name for myself in this genre. (Who would've known some years later, I'd be here with you lovely people?)
This story is about a woman who was forced into hiding due to traumatic events and is reemerging into society to rediscover herself. (LGBT)
A few Reviews:
Read the LAST story FIRST...!

Not just a simple retelling of an incident of passion, Delane Daugherty weaves together a story of heartbreak; a real-life legal battle like the ones that are occuring every day in our society; ostracation to small town; then a slow, reawakening to a world she thought she could no longer enter. I felt every word she wrote. Ms. Daugherty has written several other books and has always been fantastic but in this one, she has outdone herself!
5/5 stars Honest and refreshing

Out of all the stories i read in this fine collection of artists, i enjoyed Ms. Daugherty's the most. I don't know what it was exactly, but her words inspired me to fall in love again. Thank you for awakening these feelings Delane, from the bottom of my heart.
